"Sensual purity" of design
The 10th generation E-Class takes on a new shape that's roomier inside, sleeker outside and stronger all over. With 2.6 inches more wheelbase and classic proportions, the new E delivers sculpted elegance with a sporty stance. A choice of grille designs is flanked by expressive LED headlamps that flow seamlessly into the side profile. It all culminates in muscular rear shoulders and glistening LED taillamps.
2.0L inline-4 turbo engine
The 241-hp 2.0L turbo four in the E300 combines numerous advances to deliver more power from less fuel. Its rapid-multispark ignition and high-pressure Direct Injection can fine-tune themselves in milliseconds. Its turbocharger spools up quickly to boost response, helping deliver all of the engine's 273 lb-ft of torque at just 1,300 rpm. Widely variable timing of all 16 valves and innovative 3-phase cooling team up to reduce emissions while raising your emotions.
With a greater range of ratios and shorter steps between gears, the new 9-speed automatic changes gears more quickly but nearly imperceptibly. Along with a more seamless delivery of power, the lighter, more versatile transmission enhances quiet riding comfort and fuel-efficiency. The electronic selector and shift paddles let you control all gear changes with your hands on the steering wheel. And drivers can vary the shift modes via the innovative DYNAMIC SELECT system.
AIR BODY CONTROL
An advanced adaptive air suspension teams precise sensors and pressurized air spring-struts that respond in real time to road-surface and driving conditions. In sharp turns, the suspension firms up to boost control and cornering grip. On rough roads, it helps iron out bumps. Multiple modes let the driver vary the damping firmness and ride height when desired. And lightweight components add to the car's nimble feel anytime.
12.3-inch high-resolution central display
A crisp, high-resolution screen uses a high pixel count, a fast refresh rate and automatic adjustment to ambient light to provide seamless display of entertainment, navigation, comfort and convenience features, and customizable vehicle settings. New linear-style menus are more intuitive and offer easy access via the touchpad controller on the console or the right-hand Touch Control Buttons on the steering wheel.
